Br. Mark Menegatti, OSA was a presenter at the Augustinian Youth Encounter (AYE) in England, August 2010. He wowed them with his hip-hop method of presenting Augustinian spirituality.

Bro. Carlos Medina, OSA, made his Simple Vows of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience to the Very Rev. Gary Sanders, OSA, at Our Lady of Grace Church in Castro Valley, CA on July 31st. Carlos made his Novitiate in Racine, WI and will begin his graduate theological studies at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, IL in late August.

They were Ordained by Bishop Turley, OSA on July 10, 2010 at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church in Los Angeles, CA.

On Saturday, June 12, 2010, Brother Ronnie Custorio, O.S.A. professed the Evangelical Counsels in the Order of St. Augustine to Very Rev. Gary Sanders, O.S.A., who represented the Most Rev. Robert Prevost, O.S.A., the Prior General of the Order. This Fall, Ronnie returns to the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago to complete his final year of graduate theological studies.

Former Prior General of Order of St. Augustine, Fr. Martin Nolan, O.S.A. of the Irish Province, was the retreat director of the 2010 Province of St. Augustine retreat which took place in Ojai, CA in early June. Marty regaled us with his ever-present wit while calling our attention to Jesus in our daily lives. He is one of the treasures of our Order, having taught throughout the world. Many have profited from hearing him. We are among them!

During the 2010 Province of St. Augustine retreat in Ojai, CA, four Augustinian Deacons, two Permant Deacons and two Transitional Deacons, were the homilists at a Mass during the retreat week. Rev. Bro. Fernando Lopez, O.S.A., Rev. Bro. W.Thomas Davis, O.S.A., Rev. Bro. Dick Hardick, O.S.A., and Rev. Bro. Kirk Davis, O.S.A. Tom and Kirk will be ordained to the presbyterate on July 10, 2010.

The Honorable William Clark, a graduate of Villanova Prepartory School in Ojai, and a long time friend of the Augustinians, especially Fr. Tom Behan, O.S.A., was affiliated to the Order of St. Augustine on June 3, 2010. Very Rev. Gary Sanders, O.S.A. was the priniciple celebrant of the Mass with Fr. Tom and Fr. Greg Heidenblut, O.S.A. concelebrating. Bro. Mike Bube, O.S.A., also participated in the Affiliation Mass.

Rev. Brothers W. Thomas Davis, OSA and Kirk Davis, OSA, graduated from the Catholic Theological Union as Masters of Divinity on May 13th.

The Province of St. Augustine's annual winter meeting, January 12-13, 2010, included the Province celebrating the weekly Saints' student body Mass. The princpal celebrant was Rev. Kevin Mullins, O.S.A., with Rev. Bro. Dick Hardick, O.S.A. as deacon.

Rev. Bro. Tom Davis, OSA, and Rev. Bro. Kirk Davis, OSA were ordained transitional Deacons on December 19, 2009 by Most Rev. Robert Brom, Bishop of the Diocese of San Diego. Their ordinations took place at St. Patrick's Church, in San Diego. Tom and Kirk are fourth-year theologians who will graduate from the Chicago Theological Union in May of 2010. Many Province and family members were present to witness their ordinations and celebrate with them.

Fr. Paul Quante OSA, blesses the altar at the beginning of the Offertory during the Mass on October 17th, celebrating the 25th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Presbyterate. Fr. Paul is the Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Grace Church in Castro Valley, CA.
